İlker Kiriş was born on May 6, 1972, in Aydın, where he also received primary and higher education. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir in 1995. He completed cardiovascular surgery residency in cardiovascular surgery clinics of both Dokuz Eylül University and Süleyman Demirel University in 2002. He worked under the supervision of Prof. David Taggart at the Cardiothoracic Ward of the University of Oxford, Britain, for a while in 2008. He received the title of associate professorship after passing the scientific paper and oral examinations conducted by the Inter-universities Council in 2011, when he also successfully passed the National Board examination, conducted by the Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery. He worked for Private Medifema Hospital, Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic in Izmir from February 2016 to June 2020.  He is currently working for the Mest Health & Rehabilitation Center in Izmir, Turkey, since July 2020. As part of his daily professional practices, he has been intensively and particularly involved in phlebology, mainly aesthetic phlebology. He is married with two children.
