Holds a position of Scientific Director of the Italian Group of Minimally Invasive Liver Surgery (IGoMILS). Primary clinical and research activities include surgical oncology topics on colorectal liver metastases, perihilar and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma, techniques for liver resection, and minimally invasive hepatobiliary surgery, with a personal series of more than 3,000 liver resections, more than 900 of which performed laparoscopically.
