What is important to know about radiotherapy?

  • The latest generation radiotherapy devices are the most accurate and safe. They are equipped with a 3D imaging system that delivers the radiation beam with an accuracy of 0.5 mm, so the impact on healthy tissue is minimal. For comparison, the accuracy of irradiation using old installations is a few cm.
  • The newer the equipment, the higher the effectiveness of radiation therapy. Devices of 2003-2008 were installed in domestic clinics, 2013-2018 in foreign ones.
  • Irradiation on the device of the latest generation will pass quickly. 1 session takes 10-15 minutes. For comparison, radiotherapy with older devices lasts 30-60 minutes.
  • The cost of radiation therapy abroad is not always higher. The price of radiation therapy on a linear accelerator of the latest generation in a foreign clinic can be the same as with the help of an old one in a domestic hospital.

The directory lists the best clinics for radiation therapy. The rating is based on the choice of our patients. Leave a request on the website so that a Bookimed coordinating doctor will contact you at a convenient time for you. He will answer your questions, tell you about the features of the procedure, guide you on the cost of treatment and help you choose the best medical center for your case.
