So far all is going well and really cannot rate my experience as it’s too soon to tell the results

I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing so far and anticipate being even happier as the swelling goes down and my new figure fully reveals itself
Dr Ana was very sweet and helpful as was her daughter Louise. Despite the language barrier they were able to communicate to me what the procedure was going to be in terms of medical tests on surgery day. The anesthetist was wonderful and easy to communicate with. The nurses who tended to me post procedure were very kind, but there was definitely a language barrier. I had hoped to be able to use my phones translator, but did not anticipate how difficult it would be for me to move after the procedure often times I would not be able to reach my phone. Once I arrived there, there were some nominal unanticipated additional costs that I was not made aware of. Specifically, $200 a night to sleep another night in the clinic when I was too swollen and sore to move and wasn't going to be able to get on a plane just yet. I stayed in a nice hotel the night before the procedure and paid only $77 for that accommodation. It would be different if they had been bringing me juice and water frequently or otherwise caring for me, but I often found myself dehydrated and lacking cold water. I appreciate that they brought me food, but all of the food that they brought me was so dry that I could not eat it because my mouth was already so dry. They were very sweet to go and get me and ice cream when I asked for a popsicle. Otherwise you got whatever they gave you, whenever they decided to give it to you. The rest of the time I was just left alone in my room, which was fine because I really was not able to move. There are times and it would have been helpful to have someone nearby to hand me lip balm from my bag, but generally I was left by myself. I am 2 weeks out from my procedure so I'm still very swollen, St iff and sore, but I can tell that the surgeon did an excellent job with my procedure. I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing so far and anticipate being even happier as the swelling goes down and my new figure fully reveals itself. This is not the same kind of experience as having cosmetic surgery in the states. There's very little consultation/ pre-op care other than the scheduling. The Aftercare is almost non-existent. I was prepared for that and so I had real significant complaints outside of the lack of pain management offered post procedure. Read more less

I like how fast and easy it was from the start. The surgical facility was small but worked fine. I did not like the post op care. The night nurse was terrible. Her patients were not a priority. Post op care was not made clear. I would have preferred more detailed instructions on after care. I was left guessing about bandages, sprays, medications and scar treatment. Doctor repaired a hernia, of which I was grateful, but would have preferred to have price list in case this occurred so I could have been prepared financially. I felt like price was just made up. So I don't know if I was overcharged. I liked Mexicali as it was a nice quiet clean town. All in all experience was not bad and the price was affordable. Read more less

Real people's experience only

We collect the opinions of Bookimed clients only after getting medical experience with the clinic — so everyone on the platform can trust the facility they choose. We strive to make the content on our platform as useful as possible and ensure the freedom to express critical opinions. Thus, we publish positive and negative reviews, aiming at being a source for informed decision-making for our future clients.

Topics with high levels of expertise, authority, and trustworthiness

On Bookimed.com you may find choice and convenience to find the best medical solutions from top medical services providers just in one place, and often at competitive prices. Making sure to deliver the freshest information, the clinic’s representatives update doctors’ CVs, clinics’ capacities, before-after pictures, prices, packages, and specials by themselves shortly. You may meet the clinic’s representative and check the date of updated content at every clinic’s page to make sure of its trustworthiness.

Our blog and supportive pieces are created by professional authors with at least 3-year experience in medical writing and edited by medical specialists with relevant clinical and research expertise — all carefully recruited to the team. We strive to enhance patient access to health information, making it expert but easy to understand. All pieces follow the Bookimed’s Editorial Guidelines.
