Everything at Bumrungrad was above average, except the fact that they told me they d send me quotes on different procedures within 3 days and it took one full month and me pushing them 3 times in order to get these quotes. That is far from what anyone would expect from an hospital of this international standing. On the flip side though, the people from Bookimed were awesome and i was happily surprised by they re professionalism, presence and speed of response to any of my inquiry. I will recommend Bookimed's services to everyone i know that are in need. Keep it up Bookimed and all the best! :-)

FAQ about Veneers in Thailand

Teeth Veneers Thailand Cost: What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front of your teeth to enhance your smile. Made from porcelain, ceramic veneers, or composite resin, they can change the color, shape, size, and length of your teeth to look natural and vibrant.

Veneers are a popular choice in cosmetic dental treatments and can be combined with other options like implants or bridges for a complete smile makeover.

💡A 2024 study found that students with well-aligned teeth had higher self-esteem. This suggests that treatments like veneers can boost confidence.

natural tooth structure in sea smile dental clinic

Veneers are used to fix:

  • Discoloration. Stains that won't come out with regular whitening.

  • Chipped or broken teeth. To get a smooth and complete look.

  • Gaps between teeth. To close spaces without braces.

  • Shape or size issues. To make small, large, or misshapen teeth.

  • Minor misalignments. To give the illusion of straight teeth without orthodontics.

🌍The global veneers market is growing with a projected value of $3.4 billion by 2028.

Options of Dental Veneers

Traditional Methods

The most common ways to apply veneers are with porcelain or composite resin. Both are durable, but porcelain is often preferred for its natural look and stain resistance.

💡Composite veneers are quicker and cheaper but may not last as long as porcelain.

New Techniques for porcelain veneers

  • CAD/CAM technology. Clinics use digital impressions and 3D printing to create veneers faster and more accurately for patients. CAD/CAM technology is also used for the immediate fabrication of ceramic veneers.

  • CEREC System. A high-tech way to get same-day veneers, no need for temporary veneers and multiple appointments.

  • Minimal prep veneers. Techniques like Lumineers require little to no enamel removal, perfect for those who want to preserve their natural teeth.

When to Use Each

  • Porcelain Veneers for patients who want a long-term solution for visible teeth that are severely discolored or misshapen.

  • Composite veneers for mild cosmetic issues.

  • Lumineers for patients who want minimal prep with less tooth reduction.

Comparison of Teeth Veneers with Other Procedures

Compared to other aesthetic procedures, veneers offer a non-invasive and instant solution to your smile without the need for extensive treatments like braces or surgery.

Veneers vs braces

Braces take months to years to straighten teeth; veneers give you an instant smile makeover.

Veneers vs teeth whitening

Whitening only whitens; veneers fix gaps and misalignments and last longer.

Veneers vs crowns

Crowns cover the whole tooth, which is more invasive and used for damaged teeth. Veneers are more conservative, only covering the front.

Who is a Candidate for Veneers?

Suitable candidates for veneers are people who want to enhance their smile and have good overall oral health. Here's what you need to consider:

✅Healthy teeth and gums. No active gum disease or decay; veneers need a stable foundation.

✅Cosmetic concerns. Patients typically want to fix discoloration, chips, gaps, or mild misalignments.

✅Sufficient enamel. Some enamel is required for bonding.

✅No bruxism. People who grind their teeth may be advised to consider other options, as grinding can damage veneers.

❗For those with severe misalignment or tooth decay, other treatments like braces or crowns may be more suitable.

How Does the Veneer Installation Take Place?

cosmetic dentist dental care

Consultation

First, we have a thorough consultation to examine your teeth, discuss your goals, and possibly take X-rays or 3D scans for planning. In some clinics, the initial consultation is free.

Procedure

Minimal enamel removal, 0.5mm to 1mm of tooth surface, especially for porcelain veneers. For Lumineers, almost no preparation.

💡The process takes 2 visits:

  1. A doctor takes impressions and possibly places temporary veneers while the permanent ones are being made in the lab. These impressions are sent to a dental laboratory where skilled dental technicians fabricate custom veneers, ensuring precise dental restorations.

  2. A few days or weeks later, the permanent veneers are bonded to your teeth using a strong adhesive.

🗓️ Time

7-14 days depending on the number of veneers and material chosen.

Step Duration
Initial consultation 1 day
Preparation and temporary veneers 1-2 days
Veneer fabrication 5-7 days
Final placement 1 day

Recovery After Getting Veneers in Thailand

After veneers, the recovery time is minimal since it's a non-invasive procedure. But you should avoid hard or sticky foods for a few days.

Most patients can return to normal activities immediately but avoid intense exercise for about a month.

Post-op care

Use a soft toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste to protect the veneers. Regular dental checkups are a must to ensure the longevity of your new teeth.

❗Some sensitivity to hot and cold foods may occur, but this should subside in a few days.

Risks and Possible Complications of Veneers in Thailand

Although veneers are a safe procedure, some potential risks include:

  • Sensitivity. Some people experience tooth sensitivity after the procedure, which usually resolves in a few days.

  • Damage or chipping. Though durable, veneers can still chip or crack under extreme pressure, such as teeth grinding.

  • Discoloration. Composite veneers are more prone to staining over time compared to porcelain.

✅ Studies have reported favorable clinical outcomes for veneers, with a survival rate of 91% over 20 years.

💡To avoid complications, following your dentist's care instructions is essential.

Results: When to Expect the Effect?

emax veneers are high quality materials

You'll see the results immediately after the procedure as veneers transform your teeth instantly. With proper care, porcelain veneers can last up to 15 years or more, while composite veneers last 5-7 years.

💡In some cases, touch-ups or replacements may be needed if the veneers are damaged, worn down, or lost color. Regular checkups will ensure your veneers stay in top condition.

Should I Get Veneers in Thailand?

Thailand has become a popular destination for dental tourism, especially for those looking for high-quality veneers at a fraction of the cost of Western countries. Here's why:

Affordability

✅Thai dentists have credentials from institutions in the USA like Harvard School of Dental Medicine (USA) and the UK (King's College London Dental Institute (UK).

High quality

Thai clinics are accredited by JCI and ISO 9001  for high quality and patient safety. Medical institutions often have affiliations with renowned international dental organizations, such as the American Dental Association (ADA) and the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD).

👉 A 2022 study in The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry tracked 801 ultrathin veneers, finding 99.7% in excellent condition after one year and 97.9% still serviceable after nine years, proving their long-term durability.
