I was really nervous about a new breast lump that developed. I reached out to Book I med and explained my situation. I was directed to Hisar Intercontinental Hospital. They did biopsy, ultrasound and PET scan. Although I wanted surgery, doctor explained it wasn't in my best interest and recommended medication instead. Doctors were careful to come up with plan, they didn't rush to make decisions. I had a medical coordinator who assisted in transportation to and from hospital and coordinating tests and doctor visits. I was also assigned an interpreter for Turkish to English.They were both wonderful and it was nice to have assistance and smiling faces when I arrived. They always took time to listen to concerns and answer questions. I met with 2 doctors, a breast cancer surgeon and oncologist. They both were professional and friendly. They met with a tumor board of physicians to discuss my plan.I feel like I got professional care and good treatment plan. The hospital was clean and modern. They did a good job with the tests, I didn't feel any pain from the doctor who did my biopsy. Believe me when you have something as scary as a breast lump you want to be in good hands.I paid for each test and medication individually with credit card. I was told the cost before each purchase. Even though the whole bill wasn't cheap, it's much much lower cost than I could get in United States. As a self pay patient I am glad for that also. So overall even though I was struggling with something really bad(tumor) I feel like I got great and professional care at a decent price. I would truly recommend this to anyone. And Turkey is such a beautiful country with friendly people. There is hidden artwork everywhere. So even though I am going through this ordeal being in beautiful Turkey makes it not so bad. The food here is really good and cheap. I'm staying in Old city which has tons of Cafe restaurants. In your spare time just sitting at a Cafe and watching the myriad of people walking by is fun. I am confident I am going to beat this breast tumor with the help of the wonderful care given at Hisar Intercontinental Hospital.

My one night stay in the hospital was a delightful experience, kind and available staff, every neat and hygienic room. The doctors are on top of their job. I was taken through a lecture in nuclear physics 101, broken in simple language. The lecturer helped allayed my initial fears about the treatment. The treatment was speedy and the results came so quickly. The doctor was by my bedside to explain the next steps. The translator was fantastic. The transportation service was superb, always on time. The clinic is good. Doctors too, but the prices are very expensive. From the beginning, the coordinator and translator do not say that they have service packages. I found out about this by accident. Immediately upon payment, ask for a receipt and you will know exactly what and how much you have to pay for. On my first visit, it was the translator who told the cashier a different amount, but it turned out that the amount there was much less. It was precisely because of this that I asked Bookimed to change both the translator and the coordinator. Be carefull. I am very grateful to the Bookimed company, they are experts in their field, especially Marina, I can write to her at any time, she will gladly answer and help me. It was she who brought me to this clinic and she, through representatives, found out how much I appreciated the treatment. Although this was the coordinator's job. The coordinator was not there to help or pick up the phone at all and didn’t even answer lately. Apparently I didn’t like the fact that I already understood everything perfectly well. I don’t know the price of finding out this is something secret, I don’t know the permanent answer. They know everything very well and it has turned into a business. Pay the money and immediately get a check from the financial department. Also, if you have dollars, ask for the exchange rate in lira. Their rate in the database is different.
