We came to the clinic with bags, as the appointment was before check-in to the hotel, in the end we carried the bags ourselves to the place where they said to leave them, there is no staff in the clinic, there are no men who could pick up the bags and no trolleys for bags, I think it is not expensive for this clinic to do such a service. Thank Allah that we met him and he did a good surgery
Many thanks to Dr Bora Basharan and Alisher Durdiev! Diagnosis: carcinoma on the tongue. Alisher was very helpful with the choice and full support during the treatment. He gave us confidence in choosing Dr Bora Basharan by telling us about his professionalism and humanity. The most important thing for Alisher was the patient's health and to organise the diagnosis/surgery so that the patient gets the best results. We are very happy about this. We could not decide on the treatment (we were waiting for answers from South Korea) and Alisher did not give up to provide us with doctor's answers, answer our many questions and help with organisation. His ability to speak excellent Russian helped a lot in communication. The first meeting organised by Alisher went well. The doctor explained everything about the surgery and gave us peace of mind due to his experience as a highly specialised ENT surgeon in oncology. The operation went well and the follow up health checks. The recovery is good. We read many positive reviews online about Dr Bor Basharan which gave us more confidence. The reviews are true. After the surgery we were given a room with excellent food and the recovery was good. Thank Allah that we met Alisher and Dr Bora Basharan, for his golden hands, good surgery and organisation. Thank you very much again! Good health to all! Read more less

Dear readers, if anyone wants to be treated abroad, come specifically to Florence Nightingale and find Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir and you will not go wrong with your choice
I, Temirbek Ormotoev came from Kyrgyzstan, I chose Florence Nightingale Hospital which was helped by bookimed company and the staff of this company liked me, especially I am happy to deal with Professor Ahmet-Tunch Ozdemir. Today is the 3rd day after the operation performed by Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir. The operation was done wonderfully, I am satisfied and also the hospital conditions and medical staff were top notch, everyone is polite to the patients, especially the head nurse and nurse Linhai were very good at patient care. Why did I choose Florence Nightingale specifically? Because this hospital is one of the advanced hospitals in Turkey and there is a DaVinci robotised sy. I have a neoplasm in my kidney over 30 mm. Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir performed the operation within 1.5 hours and he has golden hands. Dear readers, if anyone wants to be treated abroad, come specifically to Florence Nightingale and find Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir and you will not go wrong with your choice. I was discharged on the second day after surgery, I feel great and recovery is underway. In terms of the cost of paying for the surgery, compared to other clinics in Turkey, it is realistic and inexpensive. Mr Ahmet-Tunc Ozdemir, my family and I wish you good health, longevity, good luck in everything and that you stay for a long time saving patients from various diseases, Allah help you. I am also grateful to the medical coordinators of bookimed platform, Liana, who from the very beginning until today accompanies and helps with treatment abroad and assistants named Alisher, translator Aigerim, who know their business professionally. Thank you all who helped me with this situation, Allah bless us all. Read more less

KLAVDIIA PARGACHEVA • Thyroid resection Montenegro Mar 13, 2025

Verified review.
I am very glad that I made this choice
I had to have my thyroid investigated and cut out if the investigations confirmed it. I was supposed to fly to the Russian Federation, but I couldn't. With the help of the Bookmed website, I asked for a suitable hospital and I was matched. I liked the offer from Lokman Hekim Istanbul - they provided me with a hotel, a ward, all the necessary tests, and everything was organised in a short time, but enough time for the treatment. I decided to choose Lokman Hekim Istanbul. I am very glad that I made this choice. Everything was very clear: we were met at the airport, brought to the hotel. When we had to go to the hospital, a car came to pick us up. They took us everywhere we needed to go for treatment, even to the pharmacies. When we arrived at the hospital, I was examined by the doctor Alaattin Ozturk. I told him about my symptoms and the analyses already done in the RF. The doctor studied all this, sent me to have a blood test and an ultrasound (we paid for the ultrasound ourselves, as it was not in the plan). All the analyses and ultrasound were done quickly. After that the doctor decided to operate on me on the same day. I was scared, but Dr Alaattin Ozturk's confidence reassured me. I realised that I was in good hands and everything was going well. Also the interpreter and coordinator Olga was very helpful, caring and "warm" in her communication. All this helped me to get through the stress before the operation, even though I was very reluctant to have it. We waited in the ward. At that time a nurse came and very carefully put a catheter in advance. This is a huge problem for me: before the catheter was put already in the operating theatre, and it was a torment - I was always stabbed all my hands, because my veins "hide". But here the nurse put the catheter in so painlessly that I didn't even realise it was already in place. About an hour later, I was taken into the operating room. The doctor translated to me what was being done to me before the operation, and once again I would like to say a big thank you to him. I was very afraid that I would lose my voice because they often nick the ligaments, but when I woke up everything was fine. I woke up easily. The first day after the operation I was up and feeling relatively fine considering I had the operation. The hospital staff were very caring: they took my blood pressure and temperature and put me on painkillers. I did not feel unwell. I would like to tell you separately about the ward. We were lying alone with my husband. The only disadvantage was that it was difficult for him to sleep on the couch. But everything else was just fine. I have never been in the hospital so well, and believe me - I have a lot of experience =) The bathroom is like in a good hotel: great shower, I was even able to take it. The ward is big, with good and different lighting, with a comfortable table. Everything was great, I was very comfortable. I had more problems with cystitis and Olga organised for me to see a urologist. He helped to solve the problem. I was given an antibiotic and a drip with a catheter free of charge. When we were discharged, we were taken to a pharmacy where we could buy everything. Then my husband was also taken to see a hair transplant surgeon, also free of charge and also by car. I saw the doctor on the last day - he removed my stitches and asked me to send him some tests. I was very happy that it was him who operated on me, and I was even sad to part with Olga. When the histology was ready, it turned out that I had cancer, and it was good that everything was done in time. If I have any health problems, I will definitely come back to this hospital. The people who work there treat patients and their families with care. I would also like to add that the Bookimed service made me very happy: they were interested in my health and asked me if I was OK. I liked the hospital they chose for me. Read more less

Memorial is more than a hospital. It is home from home. Very hospitable and caring staff who show a lot of empathy. My one night stay in the hospital was a delightful experience, kind and available staff, every neat and hygienic room. The doctors are on top of their job. I was taken through a lecture in nuclear physics 101, broken in simple language. The lecturer helped allayed my initial fears about the treatment. The treatment was speedy and the results came so quickly. The doctor was by my bedside to explain the next steps. The translator was fantastic. The transportation service was superb, always on time. I got more than value for my money. I will strongly recommend Memorial Sisli Hospital for any person seeking Lu-177 therapy

The staff is great. At the moment, we are waiting for the results of the tests, since the wrong diagnosis was made in Ukraine. In Ukraine, sarcoma was treated for 7 months and it is gone. We are not saying that there is no oncology, but the fact that there is no sarcoma is already pleasing. Received very nicely and politely. The coordinators are Russian-speaking. Every day they keep track of all matters. Those who passed the tests were not left alone for a single minute. Currently, we are waiting for a meeting with an oncologist and a radiologist. I recommend

Nobody offered us a ward, and if we offered we couldn’t pay it, it’s about 500 dollars a day, the doctors’ approach is good, but I think we should warn the patient about his future expenses and give an alternative for treatment because he’s not ready for such expenses, thereby putting people in an awkward position by themselves, the procedures are very expensive or perhaps it seems to us expensive because we did not quite think about their prices like that. I think when you come to this clinic with a complex form of the disease, you need to have a good wallet, now I don’t have enough pills for treatment because it costs more than $ 1,700, I don’t have that much money, you know what to do after that. Maybe I'm complaining off topic, but it touched me during treatment, it would be nice if the clinic has its own hotel at a more affordable price. We counted on a week and stayed for a month. This is the fee for the room, this is the food for additional expenses that were not considered. Well, something like this, and no one cares about our capabilities.

The clinic is good. Doctors too, but the prices are very expensive. From the beginning, the coordinator and translator do not say that they have service packages. I found out about this by accident. Immediately upon payment, ask for a receipt and you will know exactly what and how much you have to pay for. On my first visit, it was the translator who told the cashier a different amount, but it turned out that the amount there was much less. It was precisely because of this that I asked Bookimed to change both the translator and the coordinator. Be carefull. I am very grateful to the Bookimed company, they are experts in their field, especially Marina, I can write to her at any time, she will gladly answer and help me. It was she who brought me to this clinic and she, through representatives, found out how much I appreciated the treatment. Although this was the coordinator's job. The coordinator was not there to help or pick up the phone at all and didn’t even answer lately. Apparently I didn’t like the fact that I already understood everything perfectly well. I don’t know the price of finding out this is something secret, I don’t know the permanent answer. They know everything very well and it has turned into a business. Pay the money and immediately get a check from the financial department. Also, if you have dollars, ask for the exchange rate in lira. Their rate in the database is different.

My hair transplant and my wife rhinoplasty, it was great. Also we did our teeth, they butchered my teeth, I did not know they were going to shave down all my teeth, I had a very good teeth but I want to better, the dentist said you have a nice teeth, but never told me not to do, when did the teeth they put treaty together like a bridge, versus doing one at a time, now I do not have space between them, besides completely ruined my teeth, they didn’t do the proper way, he and Brazil I went to see a dentist and they told me this technique is prohibited here because they did butchered my wife in my mouth, both of us did our teeth. I had another big problem with my liposuction, very bad side effects, because I didn’t have enough fat, but Dr. Baki did with out even looking my body. My surgery was done Saturday, I called them on Monday but no one saw me until Wednesday, I finally saw the doctor and he said nothing to worry about that was normal, for sure it was nothing normal about the surgery, I sent pictures to doctors all of them sad that I need to take care of that and I couldn’t even travel, Dr. Baki sad in 40 years he never saw such a thing, but he said that was going to be fine, I travel back the following Friday to Brazil, I went to see a plastic surgeon, he said that I almost died, thank God I’m here, they did not care about my health, horrible communication with the doctor, when I spoke to a few people that takes care of the patients there, they told me that they would get right back to me, they would not get back to me for 10 hours, that’s for me was crazy. When I set up the appointment, I really want to talk to Hakan, they told me that I would do with him but they offer me Dr. Baki and I told them I did not want Dr. Baki that I wanna dr. Hakan, The day that I was supposed to see Hakan They told me that he had Covid and he could not do my surgery, I thought was weird, so they told me Dr. Baki was going to do my surgery and Dr. Baki was much better surgeon, I didn’t feel good about this but I went anyway. I reached out to Dr. Hakan and found out that he never had Covid and also I never had an appointment with him and that he was booked out. So I’m not sure if I would recommend them, I’m spending money after the surgery and they didn’t even offer to pay part of it, it is almost 2 weeks after my surgery and I’m still bruised all over and I’m really in bad situation. Did 2 Stars was giving because the booking team they are unbelievable nice and they do deserve 10 stars, but the people they assigned me had few things that I didn’t like it push a different doctor, and also the doctor did not do a good job . I do not recommend I will post pictures, also I will post pictures of my teeth before and after

All You Need to Know about Proton therapy for prostate cancer

✅The occurrence of serious gastrointestinal complications is 1.4%, while urologic complications affect 5.3% of all patients.

The U.S. proton therapy market was valued at $1.04 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to $2.67 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.97%. Unlike conventional radiation therapy, it delivers a radiation dose that stops at the tumor, reducing exposure to healthy cells in the bladder and bowel.

What Is Proton Therapy for Prostate Cancer?

proton centers

Proton therapy uses protons—charged particles that release energy precisely at the tumor site. This allows radiation oncologists to precisely target cancer cells while minimizing side effects. Proton therapy is particularly effective to treat prostate cancer, delivering targeted radiation to tumor cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues.

💧Picture throwing a water balloon at a target, but instead of bursting everywhere, it only pops on the exact spot you aimed for. That’s how proton therapy works—it hits the cancer cells and doesn’t splash onto the healthy ones.

👉The five-year survival rates for prostate cancer are 99% for low-risk, 94% for intermediate-risk, and 74% for high-risk cases.

treatment options rates

Who Can Benefit from Proton Therapy?

Patients with:

✔ Localized prostate cancer

✔ Recurrence after surgery (prostatectomy)

✔ A need to reduce risks to bladder, bowel, and other organs

✅ Those in clinical trials may access newer proton beam therapy techniques, such as pencil beam scanning, for the most precise form of treatment.

Proton therapy can treat patients with varying severities of prostate cancer, including advanced cases where the cancer has spread.

How It Differs from Conventional Radiation Therapy

Feature Proton Therapy Conventional Radiation Therapy
Radiation exposure Stops at the tumor, sparing nearby tissues. Continues beyond the tumor, affecting healthy tissues.
Side effects Reduced impact on bladder and bowel. Higher risk of urinary and bowel complications.
Tumor control Most precise form of radiation. Effective but less targeted.
Delivery techniques Uses pencil beam scanning for precision. Less advanced targeting.
Radiation dose Can be adjusted to limit damage to healthy tissues. Affects a broader area.

💡For many patients, this most precise form of radiation can decrease complications, reduce long-term risks, and improve life quality.

research results

👉Proton therapy reduced the amount of rectal tissue receiving doses between 10 and 80 Gy and bladder tissue receiving doses between 10 and 35 Gy, compared to Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).
