Radiosurgery using CyberKnife is conducted at the Department of Radiotherapy in Assuta Hospital. Doctors prescribe it for the treatment of cancer. The specialists of the Department use the CyberKnife device produced by Accuray Company. It affects the tumor by radiation beams. The apparatus operates with 0.5 mm of accuracy.
During the therapy session, a patient is conscious. Doctors do not use anesthesia because the procedure is painless.
The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis for 2-3 hours. After irradiation therapy, a patient returns home.
