Orthopedist
Dr. Jacob Rue is a skilled veterinarian and orthopedic surgeon. He specializes in critical care, emergency cases, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, pain management, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. He has received the small animal surgery award. Dr. Rue is also certified in bone plating and tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO).
Dr. Rue has broad surgical experience and upholds high standards in veterinary medicine. He is an active board member of the Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation (HAHF). This role shows his dedication to improving animal healthcare.
Dr. Jacob Rue completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Findlay in 1996, majoring in biology and pre-veterinary medicine with a minor in chemistry. He then advanced his education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he excelled in surgery to win the small animal surgery award. His professional journey includes a clinical year at the University of Missouri, followed by a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Rue has also contributed to disaster recovery as a veterinarian for FEMA following Hurricane Katrina.
