Location

Dr. Pérez de la Romana was the first in the world to provide reconstructive breast surgery and is a trendsetter in all breast cosmetic surgery techniques. He also contributes to facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, and treatment of obesity.

 

Work experience

 

  • Since 2005 — founder and chief plastic surgeon in the Instituto Pérez de la Romana de Cirugía Plástica y Estética in Alicante
  • 1978 — founded the Clínica Almagro for plastic and cosmetic surgery in Madrid
  • 1975 — plastic surgeon in the Hospital La Paz in Madrid.

Education

  • Graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid with a degree in medicine; he was awarded a scholarship and continued his studies in the USA
  • 1978-1980 — has learned plastic surgery and aesthetics at the University of California and at the university hospitals of San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Achievements

  • Cosmetic breast surgery. In 1980 he founded the first Breast Reconstruction Unit in Spain, located at the Madrid hospital, La Paz, pioneering in breast reconstruction techniques.
  • Facial rejuvenation. Dr. Pérez de la Romana performs facelifts and blepharoplasty by inserting fat, achieving the most up-to-date and complete results.
  • Treatment of obesity. In 2005, Dr. Pérez de la Romana created a new unit at his clinic, focused on the personalized treatment of obesity. Every year the Pérez de la Romana Institute organizes a training course for young plastic surgeons who specialize in obesity treatment.
