Gynecologist, Gynecologic oncologist
Dr. Giorgia Garganese is the Director of the Gynecology and Breast Care Center at Mater Olbia Hospital. She also leads the hospital’s Women’s Care Center. She specializes in minimally invasive and guided surgery for breast and gynecologic cancers. Her main focus is on oncoplastic techniques and vulvar cancers. Dr. Garganese has performed more than 2,000 surgical procedures.
She is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Catholic University in Rome. She is also a faculty member at the Royal College of Surgeons in England. Dr. Garganese coordinates research projects on new cancer treatments, prognostic markers, therapeutic targets, and advanced ultrasound imaging for women’s cancers.

Expertise in a wide range of minimally-invasive and multimodal guided-surgery techniques applied to Breast Cancer, with a strong commitment to oncoplastics, and to Gyne- cologic Oncology, with a deep research interest in vulvar malignancies (over 2000 surgical procedures performed).
Teaching activity: Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Catholic University in Rome, teaching in Degree, Residency, Master and International Fellowship courses. Faculty member in the Royal College of Surgeons, England at St. George’s Advanced Patient Simulation and Skills (GAPS) Centre.
Coordinator in many research projects with the topic of: development of new technologies for women’s cancer treatment; bio-molecular characterization of prognostic markers and therapeutic targets in rare gyn-tumors; development of new ultrasound dynamic Imaging.
