After completing a fellowship in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology there, he completed his residency at Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital, where he obtained a specialization in Medical Oncology (2006). In 2008 he was awarded a scholarship in the Department of Endocrine Oncology at Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden.
