- Research Retina Fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard University, Boston, USA, in 1990 and 1991.
- Clinical Retina Fellowship at the Hospital San José at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, in 1992.
