Kumara Swamy

Kumara Swamy is a Senior Consultant and Head of Radiation Oncology at Aster CMI. He specialises in treating cancer using the latest Truebeam STx with Perfect Pitch 6-DoF robotic system. This machine irradiates tumours of any size with millimetre precision.

Education

• 1977 - studied at the Mysore Medical College, India;
• 1985 - Specialization in Radiotherapy at Bangalore Medical College, India;
• 1989 - Diploma in Radiotherapy from the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, India;
• 1991 - MD from Bangalore Research Institute.

Advanced training

The doctor has completed additional training in the following medical areas:

• image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), Morristown Medical Center, New Jersey, USA;
• Radiotherapy, Sunnyvale, California, USA;
• Tomotherapy, Heidelberg University, Germany.

Achievements

In 2012, Kumara Swamy received the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Award in Boston.

Dr. Swami has over 40 publications in international scientific journals.
