Professor Martin Strick is an endocrine surgeon and oncologist with over 20 years of experience and a leading European specialist in minimally invasive thyroid surgery.
The doctor removes the thyroid gland through an axillary approach, which avoids scars on the neck, as with traditional surgery.
From 1981 to 1987, Martin Strick studied at the University of Würzburg (Germany) and Bern (Switzerland). He began his medical practice in 1988 at the University Hospital of Würzburg.
In 2005, he became head of the department of general, visceral and oncological surgery at the Helios Clinic Berlin-Buch.
From 2008 to 2014 he held the position of head of the German Association for Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Professor Martin Strick has developed a gentle method of surgical treatment of thyroid tumors through an axillary approach – Axillo Bilateral Breast Approach (ABBA for short).
Dr. Martin Strick is the President of the European Surgical Academy (NESA), which unites more than 200 leading surgeons from 35 countries.
One of the main principles of NESA surgeons is the development of scarless surgical methods.
