Dr. Alessandro Calarco graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome with top honors in July 2007. He then pursued a Urology specialization at the same institution, completing it with full mark in April 2013; his thesis focused on the “Expression of SOCS3 protein as a malignancy marker in prostate cancer.” Additionally, Dr. Calarco obtained a PhD in Oncological Urology from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, where his research project investigated the “Study of the role of exosomes in prostate cancer and therapeutic prognostic implication.

Dr. Calarco's scientific interests include minimally invasive techniques in urological surgery and oncological urology. He has contributed as a clinical investigator in various research protocols, focusing on hormone-refractory prostate cancer and innovative electronic questionnaires for benign prostatic hyperplasia. His work has been published in reputable journals, demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field of urology.

Dr. Calarco has served as the National Head of Urology for SPIGC (Italian Multidisciplinary Society of Young Surgeons) since 2015 and as a Member of the Scientific Committee of UROP (Italian Society of Private Hospital Urology) since 2015. He has been a Member of the European Board of Urology since 2013, a Reviewer for the scientific journal BMC since 2013, and a Board Member of the Patients Committee of the Italian Society of Urology since 2022.
