On his return from London, he organized and directed the Arrhythmia Unit of the Cardiology Service of the University Hospital Nuestra Señora del Pino in Las Palmas until 2000.

His research is funded by European Union funds and the Public Innovation Agency of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Spanish Government.
