In July 2016, he was selected for the "Retina - Macula - Vitreous Diseases & Surgery Clinical Researcher" program of Istanbul Retina Institute.
He has conducted more than 50 scientific studies on retinal diseases, most of which were published in international top class journals.

After completing his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Sakarya State Hospital. Op. Dr. İşlek was at Albert Szent Gyorgyi University Faculty of Medicine between 1990 and 1992; Between 1992 and 1994, at Istanbul Şişli Eftal Hospital; Between 1998 and 2011, he worked at Antalya Serik State Hospital. Dr. Ömer Kocabıyık has completed his specialization in the Department of Ophthalmology at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2016. He performed many cataract operations at Merzifon State Hospital and at Sancaktepe Training and Research Hospital Ophthalmology Clinic.
