He was born in Niğde which is the city middle part of Anatolia. He studied high school in Adana. He graduated from Ankara University Medical School of Medicine. He started his career at Bakırköy Neurological Sciences Hospital in Zeki Oral MD.’s Clinic in 1987 and finished his Neurosurgery residency in 1993. During this period, he completed his micro neurosurgery education, which was a breakthrough for him, at Zurich University “Professor M. Gazi Yaşargil’s Clinic”.

Between 1993-2003, he worked as a teaching assistant and then as an assistant professor at the Professor Necmettin Pamir’s Clinic, Faculty of Medicine, Marmara University. At the same time, he obtained clinical and surgical gains in the field of neurooncology and vascular neurosurgery at Professor Donlin M. Long and Daniele Rigamonti's Clinic at Johns Hopkins University, USA. In 2003, he received the title of Associate Professor of Neurosurgery.

Between 2004-2010, he worked as Chief of Clinic in Göztepe Training and Research Hospital of Ministry of Health. During this period, he led his clinic to become the only accredited clinic by EANS (The European Association of Neurosurgical Societies) in Turkey, with its educational and care services. During this period, he completed his endoscopic skull base training starting at the University of Pittsburgh.

In 2010, he started to work for Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine and became a Professor of Neurosurgery. He established the Neurosurgery Department in Medipol University Faculty of Medicine on 2012. He served as a Head of Neurosurgery Department in Memorial Health Group Istanbul Hospitals between 2014-2018. He served Neurosurgery Department of Maslak Hospital of Acıbadem Health Group with his team between 2018- September 2021.

Since 01.10.2021, He have started to work with his team at my private clinic located in Fulya and Ulus Hospital of Liv Health Group.

He served as the founding chairman of ”Skull Base Society” in Turkey. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the European Skull Base Society (ESBS).

There are more than 110 scientific papers which he hs published in international refereed journals (SCI/SCIEx) and in national refereed journals and 18 scientific articles. He Has more than 250 scientific congress presentations, published books and chapters in books.

I am a specialist in neurosurgery, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University, a certified instructor of endoscopic spine surgery. I specialize in surgical treatment of brain and spine diseases, as well as in interventional pain treatment. I completed my specialization training in neurosurgery at the Department of Neurosurgery of the Medical University of Warsaw and at the Department of Neurosurgery of the CMKP in Warsaw. I have performed over 2500 surgeries on my own. I speak Polish, German, Russian and English.

I have special experience in the surgery of brain tumors - gliomas and tumors of the base of the skull. I also treat cervical, thoracic and lumbar discopathies with the use of classical (open) approach and with the use of endoscopic spinal surgery. I also deal with instrumental stabilization of the spine, insertion of artificial discs, apical-occipital decompression in Chiari syndrome, as well as microvascular decompression in vascular and nervous conflicts (trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm), My scope of interests also includes cranial base surgeries - interdisciplinary endoscopic surgeries with laryngological syndrome, hemangiomas and aneurysms of the brain (ruptured and unruptured, classic and endovascular surgeries - experience unique among neurosurgeons), spinal hemangiomas, endoscopic treatment of hydrocephalus and spinal cysts. In addition, I deal with interventional pain treatment by performing blockades of the spine, intervertebral joints, ganglia, peripheral nerves under X-ray or ultrasound control, thermolesion as well as implantation of spinal stimulators

Docent Stanisław Kwiek is an eminent specialist in neurosurgery.

Doctor Stanisław Kwiek is a graduate of the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice. In 1995, he became a first degree specialist in neurosurgery and 3 years later completed his second degree specialisation in neurosurgery and neurotraumatology. In 1997, he was awarded a doctorate in medical sciences. A few years later, he defended his postdoctoral thesis entitled: ‘Determination of predictive factors determining the long-term outcome of patients with vestibular nerve casing operated on with retro-axial access: analyses and observations made on the basis of own surgical experience during operations performed with intraoperative multimodal monitoring of the patient's neurophysiological functions’. The paper was published in 2013 by the publishing house of the Silesian Medical University.

He acquired his professional experience working, among others, as an assistant professor at the Department of Neurosurgery of the Medical University of Katowice, with which he is still associated.

Dr. İdris AVCI was born in Ordu in 1988. After primary and high school education in Germany, he graduated from Yeditepe Faculty of Medicine in 2014. My 34 years of medicine – which is more than half my life… After thousands of surgeries, the excitement and sense of responsibility of the first day still outweigh it. My father was a doctor, a neurologist too. I would always give the same response to those asking what I would be in elementary and secondary school: Neurosurgeon. When I started my neurosurgery residency at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital in 1992, my childhood goal was fulfilled. Two points have always stood out from the others throughout my medical career: 1. Don’t harm anyone. 2. The most important relationship between the doctor and patient is the relationship of trust. In line with the principle of “first do no harm” in Turkish with “primum non nocere” in Latin, I have always preferred to perform secured surgeries under the microscope from smaller incisions. I didn’t perform any surgery that I wasn’t sure the patient would benefit from. So I’ve always been in a position to convince myself first of the need for surgery. Then I convince my patient. I kept in mind that the most important relationship between surgeon and patient is the relationship of trust. How can a person entrust his life to someone he saw 15 minutes ago without a relationship of trust? I cared about this relationship lasting post-surgery and even for life. I’ve had the first walks of my patients that I’ve operated in 28 years. Sometimes even after midnight many times… I’ve always cared about some patients’ feeling of their need to see their physician even at 03.00 o’clock midnight. I don’t mind giving all my patients my cell phone number. I would want my physician to be available at any time as needed. That’s what I do for my patients. In these lines, I felt the need to describe my view of medicine. Anyone who wonders anyway can reach my resume and my publications.
