Prof. Dr. Gülşah Bademci is a physician specialized in the field of brain, nerve, spine, and spinal cord surgery. She graduated as the fourth-ranked student from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. She obtained her title as a brain and nerve surgeon from the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery in 2001. In 2008, she became an associate professor at the Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine, and in 2021, she became a professor at the Yüksek İhtisas University Faculty of Medicine. She has contributed to numerous international publications, serving as a research and clinical fellow at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences with Prof. Dr. M. Gazi Yaşargil, and as a research fellow at Yale University School of Medicine. She holds ECFMG America Board Step 1 and EANS European Board certificates. My 34 years of medicine – which is more than half my life… After thousands of surgeries, the excitement and sense of responsibility of the first day still outweigh it. My father was a doctor, a neurologist too. I would always give the same response to those asking what I would be in elementary and secondary school: Neurosurgeon. When I started my neurosurgery residency at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital in 1992, my childhood goal was fulfilled. Two points have always stood out from the others throughout my medical career: 1. Don’t harm anyone. 2. The most important relationship between the doctor and patient is the relationship of trust. In line with the principle of “first do no harm” in Turkish with “primum non nocere” in Latin, I have always preferred to perform secured surgeries under the microscope from smaller incisions. I didn’t perform any surgery that I wasn’t sure the patient would benefit from. So I’ve always been in a position to convince myself first of the need for surgery. Then I convince my patient. I kept in mind that the most important relationship between surgeon and patient is the relationship of trust. How can a person entrust his life to someone he saw 15 minutes ago without a relationship of trust? I cared about this relationship lasting post-surgery and even for life. I’ve had the first walks of my patients that I’ve operated in 28 years. Sometimes even after midnight many times… I’ve always cared about some patients’ feeling of their need to see their physician even at 03.00 o’clock midnight. I don’t mind giving all my patients my cell phone number. I would want my physician to be available at any time as needed. That’s what I do for my patients. In these lines, I felt the need to describe my view of medicine. Anyone who wonders anyway can reach my resume and my publications.

Dr. Nail Özdemir was born in Akhisar/Manisa on March 6, 1971. He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 1994. He received his specialization in Neurosurgery from the Neurosurgery Department of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 2002. From 2003 to 2010, he worked as a specialist at the Neurosurgery Clinic of Izmir Atatürk Education and Research Hospital, and from 2010 to 2019, he worked as a chief resident, associate professor, and lecturer at the Neurosurgery Clinic of Izmir Tepecik Education and Research Hospital. In 2013, while working at the Neurosurgery Clinic of Izmir Tepecik Education and Research Hospital, he became an associate professor. Since March 2019, he has been working as a freelance physician at his own private practice.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZATEŞ

Dr Ozates was born in 1966 in Birecik district of Sanliurfa in Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in my hometown, Birecik. He got into Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1983. After 6 years of successful education, he started Radiology education at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine by passing the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS) in the same year I graduated in 1989.

Between 1993 and 1995, he worked as a Radiology Specialist in various hospitals in Gaziantep. He passed the Assistant Professorship exam and started to work as a faculty member at Dicle University in 1995.

In 2003, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor with the examination held at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. In 2005-2013, Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital Radiology Clinic Chief, Training and Administrative Officer.

In 2013, he started to work as a professor at Nişantaşı University. On March 15, 2013, he was appointed as the Inter-University Board Representative for 1 year. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Ayvansaray University. He is a sub – specialist in “Pediatric Radiology”

His articles have been published in many magazines in Turkey and abroad. He presented written and oral presentations and gave conferences at congresses in various cities and countries.

As the Radiology Clinic Chief of Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital, he is the first professor who performed Coronary CT Angiography in a state hospital in Istanbul.

He is one of Turkey’s first Children’s Radiology Specialist Minor. He did his military service between March and April 2000 at the 200-bed Malatya Military Hospital.

Dr. Kim HS is a member of the Korean Neurosurgical Society, the Korean Neurosurgical Spine Society, and other professional societies. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive spine surgery and procedures, HNP (Herniated Nucleus Pulposus) lumbar cervical, spinal stenosis, and degenerative spinal disease. He obtained his PhD in 2006, and has trained at Chosun University Hospital, 21 Century Spine Hospital, Anna Hospital, and various other hospitals. He is fluent in English and Korean, and is an adjunct professor of the Medical College of the Chosun University. He has published multiple textbooks and articles, and is a journal reviewer of World Neurosurgery and Korean Neurological Society.

Dr. Lim JH is a professor at Inje University Paik Hospital in Seoul with expertise in microscopic spinal surgery, cervical spine diseases, artificial disc, spinal tumors, mini spinal fusion surgery, scoliosis, and non-surgical exercise therapy. He has trained overseas, presented at Symposiums, and published numerous articles.
