He performs single port (scarless) sleeve gastrectomy, gastric by pass procedures and revisional bariatric surgeries. He has experience about metabolic-bariatric surgery, gastro-esophagus reflux surgery, endoscopic thyroid surgery (scarless thyroidectomy), cancer surgery, hernia surgery, adrenal gland surgery, other gastrointestinal surgical procedures, liver surgery, spleen surgery, hemorrhoid surgery and anal fissure surgery. He has speeches in various congresses and meetings, over 60 articles published in national and international refereed journals, and over 100 abstracts presented at congresses.

During his medical training, he was a key player on the faculty's basketball team, winning the 14 March Medical Tournament twice.
In 2007, he began his residency in General Surgery at Istanbul University, developing a keen interest in laparoscopic surgery. He contributed to Turkey's first laparoscopic metabolic surgery for Type 2 diabetes at the Special Metabolic Surgery Clinic in 2009. He continued his education in metabolic surgery at Universal Hospitals’ Taksim German Hospital in 2011 and completed his residency in General Surgery in 2012.
From 2012 to 2014, Dr. Karaca worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Training and Research Hospital, followed by a role at a Metabolic Surgery Clinic in Şişli from 2014 to 2017. He gained extensive experience in obesity surgery and the surgical treatment of diabetes during this period. In 2015, he became a lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University, sharing his knowledge and experiences with younger colleagues, and he was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2016 and Associate Professor in 2021.

Prof Spiezia works for our private clinic in Naples, Clinica Ruesch. He is also the Head of the Endocrine Surgery Operative Unit at Ospedale del Mare Hospital, specializing in surgical procedures related to endocrine disorders, particularly thyroid and adrenal surgeries.
