In 2016, she completed her PhD on the ‘’Efficacy of Arthrocentesis and High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid Injection on Cell Death (Apoptosis, Autophagy) in Chondrocytes in Temporomandibular Joint Internal Disorders’’. In the same year, she started to work as an assistant professor (doctoral faculty member) at the Faculty of Dentistry of Medipol University. She has made many national and international publications, oral presentations and poster presentations 2016-2022. She received the best oral presentation award at the 8th ACBİD international congress in 2014 and at the ACBID with EACMFS Endorsement Congress in 2019. There are 2 international and 1 national book sections. In 2022, it has completed 1002 TUBITAK projects. Dr. Esra Bozbay graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 2009. During her undergraduate studies, she was an observer student at Temple University Kornberg Faculty of Dentistry and Pennsylvania University Faculty of Dentistry in 2007 in the USA. She was an observer student at the Faculty of Dentistry of ACTA (Academisch Centrum Tandheelkunde Amsterdam) in the Netherlands in 2008.
After 3 years of her doctorate program at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology, she was accepted to the Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, Rome La Sapienza University in Italy, in order to do her PhD thesis. She became a board-certified physician in 2013.
She completed her second PhD in Maxillofacial Sciences and Surgery Department at Rome La Sapienza University Faculty of Medicine between 2013 and 2017.
