With his scientific studies on retinal diseases, he was entitled to become an active member of the Medical Retina Unit and Vitreoretinal Surgery Unit of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association (TOD).

2019 In 2020, he passed the European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO) exam and became a FEBO (Fellow of European Board of Ophthalmology).

His instagram account @retina.review, which he established to share information with ophthalmologists about retinal diseases, is followed by over 57 thousand ophthalmologists, mostly from the United States. Dr. Akin Akyurt is an experienced ophthalmologist. He graduated from Istanbul University School of Medicine. He completed advanced fellowships at University Eye Clinics in Cologne and Tuebingen, Germany. He also holds a PhD focused on immunomodulatory therapy for uveitis.
Dr. Akyurt is certified in LASIK, presbyopia correction with multifocal intraocular lenses, scleral fixation, corneal collagen cross-linking, femtosecond anterior segment surgery, and corneal topography analysis. He is a member of the DOG, AAO, ASCRS, and ESCRS.

Dr. Stefan Sacu is an experienced ophthalmologist. He specializes in cataract and retinal surgery, as well as diseases of the macula and retina.
