Professor Burhan Mayir isespecially interested in metabolic and bariatric surgery, also. He performs single port (scarless) sleeve gastrectomy, gastric by pass procedures and revisional bariatric surgeries. He has experience about metabolic-bariatric surgery, gastro-esophagus reflux surgery, endoscopic thyroid surgery (scarless thyroidectomy), cancer surgery, hernia surgery, adrenal gland surgery, other gastrointestinal surgical procedures, liver surgery, spleen surgery, hemorrhoid surgery and anal fissure surgery. He has speeches in various congresses and meetings, over 60 articles published in national and international refereed journals, and over 100 abstracts presented at congresses.

Prof. Dr. Alaettin Çelik graduated from Adapazarı Ilyaslar Primary School in 1960, from Haydarpaşa High School in 1966 and from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1972. In the same year, he became an assistant in the 2nd Surgery Department of the Faculty of Examination, and between November 1975 and February 1976, he did his military service for 4 months in the Gelibolu Military Hospital as a Reserve Officer. In 1977, he became a General Surgery Specialist in the Department of Surgical Surgery.

To establish the pediatric surgery department at the faculty and to expertise his speciality, he worked as a registrar at the London University “The Hospital for Sick Children” between 01.12.1978 – 01.12.1980. After returning to the faculty, he continued his pediatric surgery studies. He became an associate professor in 1982.

In the same year, he was appointed as the founding chairman of Pediatric Surgery Department of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine on 06.09.1982. He established the department of Pediatric Surgery with a capacity of 30 inpatients, an ICU, a polyclinic, and an operating room for students, assistants and specialists. In 1988 he became a professor. In addition to the Department of Pediatric Surgery, he was the Vice President of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences between 1990 and 1995. Between 1995 and 1998, he served as the Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.

He is a specialist in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology. He has numerous cited and published clinical and experimental research articles, case reports, expert theses, free papers in domestic and international congresses (2014), Pediatric Surgery Book of Pediatric Surgery (2014), Newborn Surgery (2008), Pediatric Surgery Book (2013).

He is a member of various professional medicine associations. He is also a member of the Turkish Ministry of Health Pediatric Surgery Society. He established, developed and trained a large number of students, assistants, experts and faculty members at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Surgery. He left the Department of Pediatric Surgery in 2013. He retired from the age limit on 16.03.2016. The contracted working period in the same faculty ended on 22.10.2016. The Council of Children's Tumors conducts weekly meetings and he is still working as Pediatric Surgery Specialist in Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital

He was born in 1985 in Antalya. He completed his primary and secondary education in Antalya. Between 2003 and 2009, he studied at the Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty of Istanbul University. In 2009, he started his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Istanbul Suleymaniye Obstetrics and Pediatrics Education and Research Hospital. During his residency, he worked in obstetrics, Gynecology, Oncology, Endoscopic Surgery, Perinatology (high-risk pregnancy), In and Menopause units.

In 2011, he spent two months in India studying actively on laparoscopy at World Laparoscopy Hospital. In 2014, he received the title of Obstetrician and Gynecologist. In the same year, he came 2nd in Turkey in the examination for Minor Specialty in Medicine and started his minor residency in Gynecological Oncology Surgery at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In 2017, he worked for three months at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, United States. In 2018, he became a minor specialist in Gynecological Oncology Surgery. In the same year, the European Society of Gynecological Oncology awarded him the personally accredited European Gynecologist Oncologist certificate (3rd person in Turkey). For about 1.5 years, he served at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital under the Obligation of Civil Service. In 2019, he participated in active surgery and cadaver work together with Michael Höckel, one of the pioneers of Gynecological Oncology at the University of Leipzig, Leipzig, Germany. That same year, he was a “visiting fellow” at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy.

He was awarded the title of Associate Professor in August 2019. He participated in numerous national and international congresses, symposiums and workshops and served as guest speaker. His surgery videos have been selected as training videos by the European Society of Gynecological Oncology and are published on their site for doctors.

He has 56 international and 10 national publications. He was the editor of the Turkish translation of the book, which is considered the main international source in Gynecological Oncology. He is the author of 7 chapters of international and national books. He has over 100 works in Turkey and abroad as oral presentations, poster presentations and panel presentations. He is refereeing for internationally respected journals. He has a good command of English. He follows up and implements all developments in his field.

Dr. Ramazan Gökhan Atış, born in Istanbul in 1978, graduated from Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School in 1996. He completed his medical education at Çapa Faculty of Medicine in 2002. Between 2002 and 2008, he received his specialization training at the Istanbul Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital Department of Urology, and obtained the title of Urology Specialist in February 2008. After working at Edremit Military Hospital between 2008 and 2009, he started working as a Urology specialist at Istanbul Göztepe Training and Research Hospital in 2009. In 2011, he underwent a 3-month Laparoscopy-Robotic Urology training at Heidelberg University Heillbronn Clinic. Mr. Mohamed Aly MBBCh MPhil FRCS is a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgery and minimally invasive (keyhole) procedures. He is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Brunel University London. His research interests include patient perspectives on surgical outcomes, health tourism, and advancing surgical safety standards. Mr. Aly has a busy general surgery practice that includes both elective surgeries, such as hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, and upper GI endoscopy. His emergency surgery work includes appendicitis, bowel obstructions, obstructed hernias and other acute abdominal conditions.Mr. Aly trained extensively in prestigious institutions across the UK, including the University of Cambridge, and he completed advanced training at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, one of the UK’s highest volume complex Upper GI centres.In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Aly is actively involved in surgical research.
