The doctor is a graduate of Istanbul University School of Medicine and has completed fellowships at University Eye Clinics in Cologne and Tuebingen, Germany. They are a member of the DOG, AAO, ASCRS and ESCRS, and have certifications in LASIK application, presbyopia correction with multifocal intraocular lenses, scleral fixation techniques, corneal collagen cross-linking, femtosecond applications for anterior segment surgery and corneal topography analyzing. They have completed a PhD in Immunomodulatory Therapy of Uveitis and have attended several conferences and meetings, including the 42nd annual meeting of the European Pediatric Ophtalmological Society, World Ophtalmology Congress and Congress of European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Professor Cechetmeier is a brilliant surgeon and specialist in eye surgery who has earned a doctorate from the University of Vienna, obtained a license to practice as a general practitioner, and has extensive experience in ophthalmology and optometry training. He has published 100 scientific papers and is a member of many national and international societies. He has even undergone refractive surgery himself and operated on his daughter, brother, and other family members.

Born in Bulgaria in 1974, Dr. X speaks English, Russian and Bulgarian. He completed his medical school degree at Hacettepe Medical School (1993-1999). He then went on to complete his residency at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital Clinic of Ophthalmology (2000-2004). He has held associate professor positions at Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital, and Chief of Clinic of Ophthalmology at Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital (2014-2016) and Chief of Vitreoretinal Surgery Department at Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital (2010-2017). He currently works at Dünyagöz Hospital Vitreoretinal Surgery Department (2017-). He is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, Turkish Society of Ophthalmology, Turkish Republics Ophthalmology Society and Turkish Society of Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal Surgery Unit. He has performed 17,000 cataract surgeries and 8,500 vitreoretinal surgeries.
