I had a rhinoplasty in the beginning of September and couldn’t be more displeased with the result. Anyone who intends to do a rhinoplasty with Dr. Cem Altindag should be aware of the following especially if you are looking for an aesthetic rhinoplasty. There is no proper consultation before the operation. The only consultation that happened was in the hospital when I was already changed into the operation garment and was sitting on my bed. The Dr. came into the room and asked me what I wanted. Not that I think that this is a bad question though how shall I as a laymen in a few words describe the outcome I would like to have. As I read comments on other surgeons where people said that they have a Michale Jackson nose I wanted to avoid to have an outcome like that and said that I don’t want my nose to be too small, I also said that I would like if people wouldn’t immediately notice that I had a rhinoplasty, though that the overall objective is an aesthetic nose. The first two wishes might be a conflict of aims though in my opinion it is the doctor's role to then offer possibilities and show the patient what possible outcomes can look like. They should have at least shared the information upfront that no proper consultation is happening and that patients need to prepare their own material upfront. If I had known that I would have created pictures on my own. I am full of dissatisfaction with the outcome. I think that my nose looks worse than before. It is not just that I have wasted the money but also the recovery process took quite a lot of time. I find it completely irresponsible to perform a surgery without making sure that the interests of the patient have been understood. A thing that in my opinion should have been done upfront is to either have pictures or some sort of sculptures at which the possible outcome can be demonstrated. In case you decide for Dr. Cem Altindag you should know that no consultation with illustrative material is happening and that you are responsible for that yourself. I definitely do not recommend Dr. Cem Altindag and I fully regret my decision.

I find it irresponsible to not take time for a proper consultation upfront but just operate and hope that the client will be satisfied afterwards

To say that I was shocked by the doctor's approach to treatment is to say nothing. My impressions to you, just do not wish to experience. The operation was agreed in advance counselling and my wishes. The day of the operation came. In the morning I was picked up from the hotel and with an interpreter, I went through all the analyses. On the question when I will have a meeting with the doctor I was told at 9 am then I pointed out that I am allergic to one drug. But they wouldn't give me any medication before the operation without the doctor's consent. When I was already changed clothes for the operation ( I apologise myself in underwear, in an operating gown ) came the doctor and began to explain to me on his hands that it can not be like this, as I want and he sees it all differently. He began to explain to me with his fingers how it will be. Interrupting the interpreter. The interpreter couldn't keep up with the translation. Hurrying me to make a decision. I replied that I couldn't make a decision without seeing any pictures of what was waiting for me. Then after about an hour of dialogue, the doctor corrected the curvature of my nose on the telephoto in front of me and said here's what awaits you and covered the tip of my nose with his hand. Again we heard my refusal, to which I was told there is no time and I have to make a decision. They told me there was no time and I had to make a decision. My wishes were ignored. What was agreed upon before the operation was changed. My wishes were to correct the curvature and to change and reduce the tip of the nose. The result of the operation is that the curvature was not corrected and the septum remained the same. But the cartilage was grown on the side, which I did not ask for at all, and the nose was visually enlarged and the tip was corrected. Now I'm just shocked with my appearance to say the least. Everything was done at the discretion of the doctor. He ignored all my wishes. Putting me in front of the fact. Without showing me a single photo of what's in store for me. Explaining it to me on my fingers.

The operation itself went well

I want to share my experience of the trip. This was my first rhinoplasty I wanted for a long time but could not make up my mind. Let me start from the beginning when I started looking for clinics I accidentally stumbled upon bookimed I was quickly found a clinic, which even alarmed me because I thought it would take me a month or two just to find a doctor. Thanks to Ekaterina who answered all my questions and dispelled my doubts even when I was already connected with the doctor and when I arrived she was still in touch and supported me. As for the staff both in the hotel and in the hospital pleasant polite staff in the hotel many even tried to speak Russian. I also have a daughter and she can not stay without me and travelling together with the child was no problem, it was a big plus. The operation itself went well the operation is done not in the clinic but in the hospital the only thing that confused me I could not provide photos before and after showed only one photo in profile but the doctor explained everything in detail I still decided to trust . It has not been much time since the operation but the first result I am satisfied with I had a large amount of work to correct the nasal septum, remove the hump, and reduce the tip of the nose and so far I like everything I hope to be able to add more comments after complete healing and a big thank you to the girl first.

I liked the staff all tried to help responsive and in the hotel and in the hospital and transfer, the first result after the operation, although it has been a short time the result is still intermediate nose looks neat and natural.

The only thing I didn't like was that they only showed one photo of what the nose would look like afterwards.

I would recommend anyone thinking about a Rhinoplasty to consider this clinic

Generally happy with the support service provided by Bookimed prior to my rhinoplasty surgery in Istanbul, although I never really had a dedicated person taking care of me the whole way through the communication process, which I would have preferred . To improve on this service and have a more personal touch, it would also have been nice to have a check-In /follow up whilst I was actually in Turkey. Fortunately Dr.Cem’s team at the Nose Clinic took care of everything, and despite a couple of unexpected setbacks completely out of everyone’s control, my surgery went ahead on 2nd May as planned. I am only day 11 post-op and so there is still quite a lot of swelling in and around the tip of my nose , but so far so good. I would recommend anyone think big about a Rhinoplasty to consider this clinic as Dr. Cem Altindag really is a nose specialist with so much experience, and a very kind manner, he immediately put me at ease and I was able to put my complete faith in him, despite only a very short consultation just before the operation itself. A massive thank you to our translator Jeret and Dr. Clem’s assistant Mohamed for their kindness, advice and making everything possible! Overall, it has been a positive experience and I would definitely consider going abroad for other treatments in the future.
